Buying nursery furniture is as difficult as buying furniture for the rest of the house. Parents to be or first-time parents do a great deal of research about nursery furniture and bring home the best for their little bundle of joy. However, not many of them pay the right amount of attention when buying a wardrobe. The most common mistake they commit is that they bring home a wardrobe that would work fine only in those baby years and would become useless when their little one would grow into a toddler. Nursery wardrobes are usually shorter than the standard ones and are not great for long-term use. So, a wardrobe should be of a size that it stays with the baby when he/she grows into a young child.
Establishing your price is one of the first steps. Do you want to buy cheap, and replace the wardrobe in a few years time? Or would you rather invest into something that will last your child, maybe right into their teens? This is an individual thing, and there is no right or wrong. There are also plenty of cheap childrens wardrobes on the market, that look way more expensive than they actually are. Shop around, is the key! Whilst a wooden wardrobe for children will add a warming touch, there are many wardrobes made from other materials that have, for example, been finished in high gloss, for a funky and modern feel. Pay careful attention to the handles - metal handles on a white gloss wardrobe can be just the finishing touch, as can smooth, round wooden handles on a pine wardrobe. This will obviously be dependent on the size of the room. To squeeze more storage space out of your wardrobe, you may want to consider buying a childrens wardrobe that has storage drawers as well. Also look at the hanging space internally - are there two rails, or one?
Like everything else in life, there are those who were born to plan out bedrooms and those who would rather do anything else. You know which one you are: When you move into a new place, or when you need an extra bedroom for new children or visiting relatives, you either get all excited and start spending quality time with design magazines or you get grumpy and depressed and try every trick in the book to avoid the issue. Never fear! Its not as difficult as you think, and theres one aspect of the design thats as easy as it is exciting: Choosing the right wardrobe design for your particular bedroom. There are three main aspects you have to consider when choosing a wardrobe: Your personal taste, the physical space its fitting into, and what it will be used for.
The large doors can have one of many characteristics such as the knots and gains in the wood producing a beautiful wardrobe door but for added functionality, it can be very common for a full length mirror to be build into one of the double doors. With a triple wardrobe, you usually find a similar mirror down the middle of the wardrobe with a single door either side and in total, giving the wardrobe its triple size definition. Double wardrobes when opened, have a large space for hanging clothing with a clothes rail spanning the full length of the wardrobe. Many people use this hanging rail for every day clothes, work clothes, hanging ties or even a shoe hanging rack which can store a pair of shoes away from the bottom of the wardrobe.
There is nothing quite like the charm of an antique wardrobe. It whispers in the language of the past, telling a long and interesting story. The past is portrayed in a patina that defines the beauty and individuality of the piece. This is not to say that a new wardrobe is completely lacking in character and beauty. There are advantages to both new and antique wardrobes. The choice of an antique wardrobe versus a new one generally comes down to personal preference. But there are certain factors that can influence your decision.
